Training camp has been the most amazing and challenging thing I think I’ve ever done. Coming into this, I thought that training camp would be a breeze. I could not be more wrong. I have learned so much more about myself in a week than I have learned in 18 years of life. One thing I have learned is about truth. God’s truth.

What God thinks about me is the only thing that matters. For me, I love being around people, but I have also struggled with opinions and the fear of them not liking me. When one of the speakers taught on “What is truth?” I knew it was going to wreck me. The entire message was about how we have to find our truth in the word of God. Other people’s opinions are important, but they may not be true based on what God says. The best way it was described to me was like this: there are three different perspectives in an argument between you and someone else. There’s your perspective, their perspective, and God’s perspective. We as humans may all have our differing opinions, but truth is God’s perspective because God knows all!! No matter what other people might say, we have to go back to the word to find the truth. We should not strive to find our value and worth from others, but from what God says!

I am a child of God (John 1:12).
I am chosen and appointed by Christ to bear His fruit (John 15:16).
I am a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).
I am Christ’s friend (John 15:15).
I am God’s handiwork (Ephesians 2:10).
I am a member of Christ’s body (Ephesians 5:30).
I am chosen by God, holy and dearly loved (Colossians 3:12).

There are so many more truths that God has said about us that I don’t think I will be able to share them all in one blog post! Thankfully, we don’t have to listen to the voices of the world to give us worth, but God has already defined our worth on the cross and in His word. He loves us so much that He came and took all of our sin and brought us back to Him.

That’s the truth. That’s real love. That’s God’s truth about you.
