These past few days have flown by since our squad has landed in Guatemala! It is so beautiful here! I plan to make a post in the future about how everything is going in Guate, but I would love to talk about the trip the J and K Squad girls made before we left the country. We went to Black Mountain, North Carolina; a small mountain town with beautiful views and a welcoming community. The first day of ministry, our team was welcomed into a community garden to weed, mulch, and plant seeds. It was so beautiful to be in a garden again and it reminded me of home. My mom and dad love to garden and when I was younger I would watch as they carefully tend to their garden. They checked every plant, knew everything about what they were growing and the best way to take care of it.

Won’t God do the same with me?

He knows everything about me. He knows how to take care of me. He wants me to grow into the woman He knows I am.

Most of the time in the garden, I was pulling and cutting down weeds. It was very tedious. After about an hour, the entire bed was ready to be sowed with new seeds. New seeds that would grow to help the community. New seeds.

Won’t God do the same with me?

He will pull out the weeds in my heart. He will pull out my reliance on this world. He will weed out my pride. He will take out anything that is not of Him. He will sow new seeds. He will plant seeds to help others and to bring people closer to Him.

I love seeing God through nature, and I love when He reminds me of what He wants to do with me. Sometimes I can feel very distant from God, but as a good gardener, He never leaves me tangled up in weeds. He is patient to pull the weeds out of my heart. Not to hurt me, but to create room for me to grow and bear fruit. How blessed am I to be taken care of by the creator of the world.

Won’t God do the same with me.
